Anushree Ghosh

Ph.D. Candidate
Research area:
Fate and transport of nanomaterials / Development of bio-nano hybrid materials
Biography:

Anushree is a 4th year Ph.D. in Dr. John Fortner’s lab. She obtained her Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from SRM University, India and Masters in Material Science from Indian Institute of Technology in 2016. In her masters, she worked on synthesis and applications of low cost ceramic membranes. She defended her Ph.D. proposal titled- “Bio-nano interactions- Implication and Application” in Washington University in St. louis in 2018. Her research focuses on fate and transport of Iron oxide nanoparticles in presence of biological entities present in groundwater (aggregation, deposition, release and toxicity). She is also working on developing nanoparticles decorated with enzyme for targeted contaminant remediation.

Outside work, she loves going on hikes with her pups, playing chess or reading history and geopolitics.
