Biography: 
Alexandra is a senior in Yale College majoring in environmental engineering and pursuing a certificate in energy studies. She is from Keyser, West Virginia, and her work in environmental engineering is motivated by her upbringing in Appalachia. In the Fortner Lab, Alexandra is working on PFAS removal from water. She has previously worked in the Yale Carbon Containment Lab on coal mine methane, agricultural methane, and biofuels-related projects. Additionally, she has worked on water and energy issues in wastewater treatment in Germany’s Ruhr Valley. 
Outside of her lab work and studies, Alexandra likes to spend time outdoors running, hiking, and biking. She also loves doing puzzles and having movie nights with her roommates.
